The Movement Dance Academy has been established since 1991. In 2007 Movement was reinvented when Lawrence Edwards an original student of Movement Dance Academy, took over as the artistic director/owner. Lawrence continues to implement the traditions at Movement implemented by its original owner Caroline Lepore Quattrochi. Movement Dance Academy was located in Eatontown's old business district for over 20 years, but now calls Oceanport its home.
Movement Dance Academy is a 3,700 square foot air condition facility containing 3 spacious dance studios.(1,300 SF), (750 SF), (650 SF) Our lobby is (450 SF) with flat screen tv's to view each dance room.
At the Movement Dance Academy, we believe that participation in dance instruction can influence a child for a lifetime. Classes are provided by the most qualified, educated, and certified teachers who enjoy inspiring and working with children and take such a responsibility seriously. From the beginner attending for the joy of movement to the pre-professional level, Movement can provide the environment appropriate for the student. Movement Dance Academy provides classes for students 2.5 - 18 years in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary as well as all boys classes. Movement Dance Academy has been crafting dancers since 1991 and is recognized as one of Monmouth County's most progressive, versatile, diverse, and advance studios. Movement is located in the business district of Oceanport, and is under the direction of Lawrence Edwards.
ANNUAL WINTER SHOWCASE
Ever December before the Winter break. Movement Dance Academy proudly presents its annual student Winter Showcase. These shows are held at Movement Dance Academy. The show has no financial requirements for participation. It is an informal performance and due to the lack of space the show is limited to immediate family only.
ANNUAL STUDENT RECITAL
At the conclusion of each academic year, the Movement Dance Academy proudly presents its annual student recital. These shows are held at the Brookdale Community College Performing Arts Center, Lincroft. Financial requirements for participation in the student recitals include, a costume for each class that a student attends (approximately $75-$85), and tights (approximately $12-$15) as well as reserved seating tickets for audience members ($20).
